Lexus Premium Performance Coupe RC F in India
The Japanese auto giant, Toyota introduced its luxury division, the Lexus cars in India during March this year. The company kick-started the operations of new Lexus with the launch of ES sedan RS Luxury crossover. In the month of May, the company expanded its range with its full sized luxury SUV, the LX. However, the launch of the LX made the people think that this would be the last car from Japanese automaker’s luxury fleet this year. However, the company going against all the odds and decided to launch its premium performance coupe, the RC F in India. But there is take, the premium performance coupe is offered only on order. For auto enthusiasts, the launch of RC F Lexus sports car was not a surprise as the company already showcased the model at a private preview event organized by Lexus Kochi in January this year. What it features?
Talking about the looks, the coupe features the typical Lexus grille, LED DRLs, LED headlamps along with the sharp looks and runs on noticeable 20-inch alloy wheels. In terms of styling, the car gets all the thumbs up, whether you talk about the coupe like body, the swooping roofline and stubbly boot, all the treat to look at. Powering of the coupe is the 5-litre V8 engine that makes massive 467 hp of power with 527Nm of highest torque. The power is sent to the rear wheels through an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
Furthermore, its braking is handled by 15-inch Brembo discs with 6 piston rings calipers. It also features F-Adaptive variable suspension which comes with 30 level of adaptive damping. Its suspension system is capable enough to soften or stiffen the coupe as per the driving mode.
When compared on the price basis, the Lexus Coupe is slightly slower than the Porsche Carrera S, Maserati GranTurismo and the Tata owned Jaguar F-Type. However, it is powerful enough to reach 0-100kmph in just 4.3 seconds. When it comes to power, it competes with BMW M4 which is around 80 lakhs cheaper than the Toyota’s premium performance Coupe.
